British Riding Clubs

Area 9 covers the Greater London area.

Currently there are 4 affiliated Riding Clubs in Area 9. These are: Ariel (for BBC employees and families) (based at Trent Park), Harrow (based at Littlebourne Riding School, Harefield, Middlesex), Northwood Riding Club (based at Snowball Farm, Burnham and Pond Farm, Harefield) andPinnerwood (based at Pinnerwood Stud, Pinner, Middlesex)

Also in London Riding Clubs are: Civil Service Riding Club (based at Westbourne Grove), Deloittes (based at Trent Park), Hyde Park Riding Club

Contessa Riding Centre in Hertfordshire is also used by both Ariel and Deloittes for lessons and day courses.

Club Committees
All affiliated Riding Clubs are required to have a committee. This should consist of a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer as a minimum requirement. Many clubs have much larger committees delegating various aspects of competition, training and socialising to different individuals. A listing of each club’s Chairman, Secretary, Training Officer, Treasurer and Membership Secretary is kept on the BRC central database.

Area Committees
Each Area of the UK forms an Area Liaison Committee. In Area 9 this is the London Riding Clubs' Liaison Committee ("LRCLC"). This co-ordinates dates for training and for qualifying competitions for the national championships. The LRCLC will also liaise with club secretaries and officials to organise such events and there is an annual fee which must be paid by clubs to this committee. In addition each Area receives an annual training grant from head office to be spent on training that will benefit the members in their Area. Expenditure and descriptions of what these funds have been used for have to be sent to the Training Co-Ordinator at head office.
